Not affiliated
RedSkillTrade is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Red Seal Program, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA), the Government of Canada, or any provincial or territorial apprenticeship authority (for example SkilledTradesBC or Skilled Trades Ontario). Practice questions are original study material, not actual exam questions. "Red Seal" is used only to describe the exam our material helps you study for.
Study help, not a guarantee
We work to keep questions accurate, but codes, standards and provincial rules change. Always check your trade's current Red Seal Occupational Standard, applicable codes and your instructor. RedSkillTrade isn't a substitute for formal training, safe work procedures or manufacturer instructions. If you spot a mistake, use “Report a problem” under the question.
AI tutor
When available, the AI tutor answers from cited sources and tells you when it can't find an answer. It can still make mistakes, so check the cited source before relying on an answer at work.
Accounts
You must give accurate information and keep your password safe. Accounts are for one person. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Free hours, passes and refunds
- Free hours: when you sign up with your email and confirm it, you get 24 hours of full access free. No card is needed.
- Passes: Day Pass (CA$2, 24 hours), Week Pass (CA$9, 7 days) and Month Pass (CA$25, 30 days). Each pass is a one-time payment for that period of access. The time is added on top of any access you have left (free hours, another pass, or days from a code or referral). Passes don't renew automatically, and there's nothing to cancel.
- You need to be signed in to buy a pass, so it's added to your account. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars. The price shown is the total you pay at checkout.
- Refunds: Passes are one-time purchases. Because access starts immediately, passes are not refundable once used, except where required by law. We always refund billing errors and duplicate charges. Contact info@redskilltrade.ca.
Referral program
- Each account gets a personal referral link (for example https://redskilltrade.ca/?ref=CODE).
- When someone new creates an account with your link and verifies their email, you get 7 free days added to your access.
- One reward per new person. Referring yourself (including with another version of your own email address), duplicate accounts, unverified accounts and accounts created to game the program don't earn rewards.
- Free days have no cash value and can't be transferred. We may change or end the program, or remove rewards earned through abuse, with notice for rewards already earned.
Job-site reference and tool links
- The reference section (formulas, charts, calculators and tool guides) is free with an account. We may change, add or remove reference content at any time.
- Reference only. Always verify against the manufacturer's specs, your jurisdiction's code and your site's procedures. Reference content is general information, not engineering, electrical or food-safety advice, and it doesn't replace codes, standards, manufacturer instructions or your employer's procedures. You use it at your own risk.
- We don't reproduce the Canadian Electrical Code or other codes. Where a code applies, check the current edition in force where you work.
- Some links are affiliate links. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, RedSkillTrade earns from qualifying purchases. Tool links go to other stores. Their prices, stock, terms and returns are theirs, not ours, and a link isn't a guarantee of any product.
Invite and promo codes
- An invite code or promo code gives the person who redeems it the free access shown with the code (usually 7 days) in place of the standard first 24 hours free, once they create and verify their account.
- One invite or promo code per person, ever. You can't combine a promo code with an invite code, or use the same code twice.
- Personal invite codes are non-transferable, single-use unless we say otherwise, and may expire.
- Promo codes (shared codes such as JOURNEYMAN) can be changed, limited or ended at any time without notice. Ending a promo code doesn't take away free access you already received from it.
- Codes have no cash value and can't be exchanged or sold. We may cancel codes that are resold or used to game the service, including signing up more than once.
- An invite or promo code and a referral reward can both apply to the same account.
Acceptable use
Don't copy or resell our question banks, scrape the site, try to break security, or upload or share real exam questions or other material you don't have the right to share. We may suspend accounts that do.
Our content
Our questions, explanations, design and software belong to Jamie Ansara. Government publications we cite remain the property of their owners (for example, Crown copyright).
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, RedSkillTrade is provided "as is" and we aren't liable for indirect losses, including exam results. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law in your province.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes
We'll post updated terms here and tell account holders about significant changes before they take effect.
